Tibly vs Profound

This starts with a concession: if you're an enterprise brand with a marketing team and a security questionnaire, Profound is the better tool and this page won't change your mind. Tibly is for the business that has neither. It's your website, it measures whether AI names you when someone nearby asks who to hire, and it publishes the fix on the site it already hosts.

The short version

Where each one is the better choice, stated plainly.

Choose Tibly when

Choose Tibly if you run a dental practice, a law firm, an HVAC company, or a restaurant, and you want to know whether ChatGPT names you when a customer asks, then do something about it without hiring anyone. Tibly is the site as well as the scanner, so the page that closes a gap gets published where the gap was found.

Choose Profound when

Choose Profound if you're an enterprise brand or the agency serving one. Up to nine answer engines, SSO and SAML, SOC 2, agent analytics wired into your CDN, and a dedicated support team are things a national retailer or a pharmaceutical brand needs and a single-location business never will. If procurement is going to ask for a security review, Profound is the right room to be in.

Profound's own research is the best argument for tracking more than one engine: ChatGPT and Perplexity overlap on only 11% of the domains they cite, and Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode agree on just 13.7% of the URLs they surface (Profound, 100k prompts). See the research

What does Profound do?

Profound is an AI-visibility analytics platform built for enterprise brands. It tracks how answer engines describe and recommend your brand across the prompts your team defines, shows which sources those engines cite, estimates how often each prompt is actually asked, and adds agent analytics that plug into CDNs like Cloudflare, Akamai, and Vercel so you can see which AI crawlers hit your site. As of September 2026 the pricing page shows two options: a free 7-day trial that runs 50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, and an Enterprise tier that is custom-priced and adds up to nine engines, SSO and SAML, SOC 2, and dedicated support. There's no self-serve paid plan published. Profound also announced a $180M Series D, publishes a six-chapter AEO guide and more than 250 articles, and lists large brands in travel, retail, and pharmaceuticals as customers. Check Profound's own page before deciding anything, because packaging in this category moves quickly and any detail quoted here, including this one, ages fast.

When is Profound the right choice?

When you're the kind of company Profound was built for. If you manage a brand with hundreds of locations, a national product line, or a regulated category, you need coverage across every engine your customers use, a security posture your IT team will sign off on, and a vendor that picks up the phone. Profound has all three, and Tibly has none of them at that depth. The same goes for agencies serving enterprise clients: Profound's agent workflows, its spreadsheet-style Profound Sheets, and its Prompt Volumes data are the tools an agency needs to defend a retainer. If you recognize yourself in that paragraph, request the trial and skip the rest of this page. It's written for someone else.

What is the real structural difference?

Profound reports on your stack. Tibly is your stack. Here's what that means in practice: a plumbing company in Tampa runs a Profound scan and learns nobody names it when a homeowner asks who fixes a slab leak. The finding is correct and useful, and now someone has to write the page, get it onto a site that might be on GoDaddy or an old WordPress install, and publish it. In an enterprise, that's a ticket to the web team. In a three-truck plumbing company, it's usually where the finding dies. Tibly hosts the site, so when the scan finds the gap it drafts the page and publishes it there, and the next day's scan checks whether the answer changed. The prompts come from your industry and the cities you serve rather than a spreadsheet your team maintains, because a business owner isn't going to maintain a spreadsheet. If you have a web team and a content calendar, none of that is an advantage. If you're the owner and the marketer and the person who answers the phone, it's the whole point.

Does a small business need an enterprise visibility tool?

Almost never, and the price tells you why. Profound doesn't publish a self-serve plan as of September 2026, which is a reasonable signal about who it's for. Tibly publishes its prices: Growth at $299 a month tracks 100 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, Scale at $699 tracks 250 prompts across six engines including Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, and Copilot, Premiere at $1,499 is fully managed with 500 prompts across 50 markets, and Enterprise is custom with all seven engines including Claude. Every plan includes the website builder, hosting, the editor, a custom domain, payments and invoices, a store, booking, forms, and analytics, so the visibility line replaces several other bills rather than adding one. If you want a free first look before paying anyone, Profound's 7-day trial is a real option, and so is Tibly's free AI visibility report, which shows who the engines name when someone asks for a business like yours.

Common questions

Is Profound better than Tibly?
For an enterprise brand, yes. Profound tracks up to nine answer engines, ships SSO and SOC 2, and has a dedicated support team, and Tibly matches none of that. For an individual small business, Tibly fits better: it publishes its prices from $299 a month, generates the prompts for you, and publishes the fix on the site it hosts. Pick based on which of those two businesses you are.
How much does Profound cost?
Profound doesn't publish a self-serve price. As of September 2026 its pricing page shows a free 7-day trial and a custom-priced Enterprise tier, so you'll need to talk to sales to get a number. Tibly's plans are published: Growth $299, Scale $699, Premiere $1,499 a month, and Enterprise by quote. Verify current pricing on Profound's page before you plan a budget.
Can a small business use Profound?
You can run the free trial, and it's a fair way to see what an enterprise scan looks like. Beyond that, Profound sells to enterprises and agencies, and its feature set (SSO, SOC 2, CDN agent analytics, Prompt Volumes) is built for teams that report to a CMO. A dentist or an electrician will pay for depth they'll never use, and still have to fix the site somewhere else.
Does Tibly track as many engines as Profound?
No. Profound covers up to nine engines on Enterprise. Tibly tracks three on Growth (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini), six on Scale and Premiere (adds Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, and Microsoft Copilot), and seven on Enterprise (adds Claude). If breadth of engine coverage is your deciding factor, Profound wins this one outright.
